California, Capstone and Cabernets

I recently completed the Capstone California Wine Programme Level 1 with Lim Hwee Peng. It was a pure online and examinable course; highly recommended for all wine enthusiasts. It is also a way to be familiar with the diversity and history of wine making in California. Especially the ever-changing AVAs.

For those interested in upcoming cali wines, 2019 is a much loved vintage, with the big names likely to last 3 decades. 2020 was, on the other hand, a much more challenging year with smoke taint for some. Spottswoode’s 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon may be one of those who escaped. Now looking forward to what is one for 2021.
